Why is the Elitch Gardens Flying Coaster closed?

Jerald Florence: wat!!!!???? itz closed? huh..... i dint no tht..... i hav a freind who workz @ elitch gardenz so i'll ask him..... =)

Raymon Fiene: i had no clue it was closed! how long ago were you there???

Derrick Smsith: I work at elitchs.and heres the deal. The coaster was very expensive to operate, and not that many people rode it. Apparently the park has deemed that the ride’s lack of popularity compared to the price of repairs and upkeep needed to reopen it for the season just didn’t add up. No word on when they may opt to remove it however, though I imagine they’re more likely to try and sell it. hope that helps!...Show more

Dalia Causby: They closed down a few years ago because they said that it was being transferred to a different amusement park and I don't know when exactly they will transfer it but thats all I know. Hope it helps

I want to plant a flower garden?

Lulu Bukowiecki: cannas are easy and like heat they are bulbs and will come back for years and bloom for months

Paul Maymi: What about a rock garden maybe for the back of the house? And flowers in the front where people actually see the house. Or rocks that match tan and brown

Patricia Bolduc: If your not a gardenter pay a pro to pull the bush out then he will get the roots too.I think the lowest maintenance would be bulbs.. tulips, daffoldils, iris are all self contained you can have them in the ground for a few years without spliting the extra corms and bulbs that grow. Iris are good summer flowers, while daffodils and tuplips are good for the springtime. You could plant a small azalea bush if your weather isn't too hot and you have a shady spot for it....Show more

Ariel Arons: Hi newbie gardener, there's a few things we need to know. When does the sun shine on that side of the house and for approx. how long? Has the soil been dug up before? The shru! b out front may have really long roots so it won't come out very easily , maybe cutting it back?, just shape it evenly and clean out dead limbs and branches. the fence flowers will need to know about sun again and soil.

Torri Tippey: I also want to get a fertilizer that will make my grass nice and green. I guess I have Bermuda? Idk. Not wanting to spend a lot of money

Karey Dunken: You may want to hire someone to give you advise on a long term plan to attain your goals. For someone who has zero experience to tackle this job is daunting. You could very well spend just as much time and energy for a dying garden that you could pay a pro to get you going in the right direction. If you desire "VERY low" maintenance, then your best bet is to do only indigenous species. There is a no fail rate with plants that are growing naturally in your area. Remember that....Show more

Tom Romer: Texas weather, hot hot hot in the summer.. Sun pretty much always hits the fr! ont of the house but the little garden in the back has a littl! e shade

The difference between chores and slave work?

The difference between chores and slave work?

answers 0:I was raised to think that children are CHILDREN and should be had with the intention to love and care for. But so many of my friends are practically free labor for their parents. They have to clean the house all by themselves, pay for their own food/clothes (from age 16), pay for their own college, and after their days of solid hard work they aren't allowed to go have fun even for FREE.One of my friends even has to pay the electric bill while her parents waste their money on stupid luxuries (buying a deck for their pool when my friend is in DESPERATE need of dental repair, teeth rotting straight out her head!)My boyfriend has to do heavy farm labor on a daily basis. He is ruining his back and has burns/cuts all over his hands. And after all his hard work he has to get on his hands and knees ! to beg to leave the house probably twice a month. I have to buy all his clothes and medication while his parents just bought his little sister a brand new SUV when she had a perfectly fine car.A lot of ignorant people would tell my friends 'just move out?' but it's not like one can magically find an apartment that can be payed for by minimum wage, along with gas, school, medical needs. Now I'll admit I'm a lazy kid, but when my mom asks me to do the dishes or laundry, I do it. I don't get paid, but I'm not forced to work my fingers to the bone.My advice to lazy adults, hire a maid instead of conceiving children....Show moreanswers 1:You have to do chores and help out because you're lucky to even have a home: you're fed, you have clothes, and a bed to sleep on.Slaves didn't get any of these. Some were lucky enough to even eat more than a meal.answers 2:Wow those other people are rude and annoying! Umm ok well i don't think your friends are exactly being treated like slaves bu! t they seem like they are being overworked. Slaves would get w! hipped and all that stuff but i doubt your friends get whipped. And to the person who said to stay out of other peoples family business or what ever: If you really care about someone you want them to have a good life so when you think they aren't being treated unfairly etc. it bothers you and you obviously want to do something about it unless your a cold hearted b i t c h....answers 3:If you can't afford to feed and cloth your children, then you shouldn't have them.answers 4:This isn't a question this is a rant. Some parents actually want to teach their kids responsibility. They won't have mommy and daddy in the real world. Stay out of other people's family business"pay for their own college" so your friends are being tortured because they have to pay for their own college? seriously grow the **** upanswers 5:When I feel my friends are being tortured, it becomes my business. Kthnxanswers 6:I think some people need to educate themselves on what slavery is. The slav! ery America had was particularly bad, but if you know anything about history then you quickly come to realize that not all slaves were brutalized. In fact in most countries, slaves had it pretty good. Not saying it was as good as being free, but it wasn't whips, mutilations and hangings all of the time either. The difference is that chores are supposed to be small tasks that build a foundation for work. Taking out the trash, mowing the yard, and taking basic care of a pet are chores. Maybe a part time job or something similar. For the morons who think that this what she's been saying builds responsibility, letting your child's teeth rot out because you'd rather buy a big screen TV is not teaching them anything. At least nothing more than the fact that you obviously care more for your material possessions than you do for your own offspring. In fact, I'm fairly sure it constitutes CHILD ABUSE.Though I'd be a little weary of calling it slavery, your friends are most certainly be! ing taken advantage of. In fact, if they're under 18, I would look into! child protection services....answers 7:My friends don't get whipped, but my boyfriend does just slapped in the face by his father on a regular basis. Because he is a 'rebelious' teen for wanting to have a girlfriend/hang out with friends/go to the movies.answers 8:They way they are being raised is basicly telling them 'life consists of working and paying bills, it is not enjoyable at all, you are better off killing yourself now' ALL of my friends have seriously contemplated suicide because of their parents.MY problem isn't that they are doing work, it's that they don't get thanked, rewarded, they aren't allowed to act like teenagers....answers 9:Slave work = no payChores = most get paidwell, we need to thank our parents for giving birth to us, I don't get paid, I buy my own clothes, but not food ever since I was 5.and kids need a taste a real work, if they don't work then they will be fat and lazy as they grow up....answers 10:its not necesarily slavery cuz slaves had a ba! d place to sleep,1 miserable meal a day,and treated like animals.but they're parents ARE takin advantege of them.big time.im not very sure what you can do legally with this problom.im sorry

Should I add worms to my garden?

Kara Tabian: As you build soil, you will make an environment for more worms and they will increase. In a pile of compost that doesn't get hot or has already been hot, you can multiply red worms after you've added them to the pile.. Be sure to keep it damp and add vegetable matter

Lue Podewils: Get a bunch and put in. The population will adjust to the situation. Earthworms love corn meal. Sprinkle some on the ground surface and they will find it and eat it.

Tyree Allenbrand: If you use compost in your raised bed and provide organic amendments, once per month, during the winter, the worms will come (assuming the bottom of your bed is open soil). Don't use chemical amendments if you want to attract worms and other beneficial living things to your garden beds.

Bruno Galasso: In a word, no.Earthworms are very beneficial to the soil, but buying them in is not the answer. If your soil is a good environment for worms to live in, it will already have worms.! If it does not already have worms, then that means it is in some way a poor environment for them, and buying in worms will not fix that. The added worms will just die within a fairly short time. Also, you'll probably struggle to find earthworms for sale. Most worms you can buy (for wormeries, or as live bait) are actually compost worms such as tiger worms. These can only live in decomposing organic matter. If you put them in the soil, they will quite quickly die....Show more

Don't want to use a condom? Any alternatives?

Don't want to use a condom? Any alternatives?

answers 0:Okay, before you start giving me crap about not wanting to use a condom, I AM ON BIRTH CONTROL! I am on my second month and take it everyday! Me and my boyfriend have been together for a long time, I'm 19 and he's 24. we live together on our own, have great jobs and we have only been with each other! we have talked about this responsibly, we know what the risks are, and we know the chances of getting pregnant by just using birth control. But we also want to have a backup, maybe like spermacidal lube or dental dam? Any suggestions would be great. please no negative feedback, we have talked this over and thought about it for a long time! I can't use ANY brand of condoms cause it actually hurts, even the non latex ones....Show moreanswers 1:if used correctly
