Christianity question for my Humanities class?
answers1: 1: Early on many pieces of scripture were butchered out by
both the church and even some Roman Emperors (Justinian). The book of
enoch, which was rediscovered in the dead sea scrolls, was part of
scripture in Jesus' day.
Here is why they wanted Enoch and later Origen taken out: They spoke
of christian reincarnation, not resurrection, I mean reincarnation and
the real reasons why god sent our souls back to earth to learn the
lessons we needed to until our personal soul had evolved beyond the
need to incarnate on the material plane. This was threatening to the
church, emperor and nicene council because if they could not make
people believe there was a need for the church and that one could
actually advance themselves to be like Christ (for they falsely teach
that to achieve christhood is in vain. It is extremely difficult but
not impossible) there would no longer be a need for clergy and
sermons and this and that, and the dependence on them would be gone,
and so on the empire who the church served because the cult of
personality was expanded to patriotism AND zealotry both.
2: The trinity was intended to explain the 3-dimensional relation to
God, as well as every soul or consciousness. Edgar Cayce stated that
these dimensions of consciousness exist in every soul up to the
universal one. and in Christ it was symbolic as his body "the father"
his mind "the son" and his soul "the holy spirit" and that we are all
the son, those who become pure of heart. Jesus was the only one with
who this could be associated, however.
3. There are seven, heres the site
4. Sorry I don't understand what you mean by "what age" Baptism is the
washing away of one's sins, and its done upon indoctrination. If a
baby is born into the churchmembers its usually done soon after birth.
If someone later joins the church, it's done then.
5. This is varied, but
http://www.deceptioninthechurch.com/womensrole.html I think captures
accurately how christianity sees it.
Some of these might be considered controversial (1), but this is the
ugly truth of how christianity came to be what it is today.
