Maria Devenney: Well, i would like to blame TV. But TV isnt watching it themselves. And the rating system works to a T. They know what people like to watch and what they don't. And its pretty accurate. I will say some shows they never thought would be a big deal but sometimes styles and opinions change so much that a new show will take off. I doubt will and! grace would have made it the same time of family ties. Now i ! blame a lot on the households themselves. Why aren't parents teaching their children not to believe everything on TV. And whats important. They need to be more involved in their childs life. Sex talks should happen much earlier. You shouldnt be just having a talk about sex at 8 th grade. Thats a little too late. Thats about the time when males hear everything and think they can try what they see on tv or hear and women think all guys are like what they see in the movies. People should be having at talk about violence and things like that. Not stealing, showing respect, treat others well, being yourself, how are grades doing, what kind friends do you have. I mean you can ask these questions over years of time. But get to know your child. Children can hide things well. But there is no reason you should ignore signs. Don't jump to conclusions and settle on being their friends and not pissing them off. Too many parents are trying to be their friends.And to your point. I learned! from TV just don't have sex with anybody, don't leave your door unlocked, don't put yourself in the perdicument where the cops or a jury will judge you, it may not be a fair judgement. People need to look a little further and dig deeper. I admit TV makes relationships seem like "i love you, you love me, let have sex, yes, sure, we have kids, everything is great" but there are other things that are totally true. There is more than one way to translate this verse, some may prefer an alternate rendering.
