help with making a board game? (:?
Donte Liversedge: School Monopoly Each Color Can Refer To a Topic E.g Red=History and then each building/street etc refer to a topic (the stations chould be things such as english block, food court etc)
Jerald Florence: Without knowing what grade or classes you studied, it's kinda difficult to make many suggestions.I'd suggest picking a topic or subject that you considered fun and going with that... Decide what type game you want to create and how movement will be determined - answering questions, rolling dice, etc.For a board, the easiest thing is to "cannibalize" an old game that's not being used. Go check out your local resale shops (Goodwill, Salvation Army) or garage sales. You can usually find board games very inexpensive - only a couple of dollars max. Trivial Pursuit, Monopoly, Sorry are all good ones to use.Use the board, but make some changes in the appearance - custom graphics, etc that go with your chosen topic/subject. Use the existing playing pieces cuz! you'll need pieces. You could make some trivia questions based on the subject matter, and base movement of the playing pieces on the correct answering of the questions. Perhaps different levels of questions gain more or less movements - answer partially, fully or TMI. You could also have dice for "bonus" rolls. If people are interested in what you present, they'll get involved, and that will make your project look good! The game ends when a pre-determined goal is reached - number of points or collecting pieces (like Trivial Pursuit's "pie") or traveling from one point to another (like Sorry)Info on boardgames:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BoardgameHope this helps!...Show more
Jonathan Schlussel: Just be creative, like make a giant board and then each color square represents a subject. maybe put numbers on the colored squares and when i player lands on thatsquare then they have to answer a question correctly to advance and get the number of points on the color square. if! they get it wrong they should have to do a penalty round. lik! e ex. do a math problem ina certain time... something like that would be cool...Show more
