Is hardware engineering the same as electronic and electrical engineering?
Randall Twehous: Hardware focuses mainly on building and fixing things or devices. (these can be electronics too).Electronics focuses on electronic devices as a whole by exploiting the circuit board. In order to do that you must learn the basics of electricity and thus it's where the electrical part comes in.
Sonya Volcko: Basically hardware engineering is electrical/ electronic engineeringHardware basically means electronics end of a microprocessor/ computer as opposed to the software side. Traditionally, electrical engineering deals with power, including motors, generators, transformers, transmission lines and deals with 3 phase delta and wye systemsElectronic engineering dealt with RF (radio frequency) such as transmission lines, wave guides, radar, transmitters, and receiversBut as technology has advanced an Electrical/ Electronic Engineering degree includes multiple specialties, power, RF, instrumentation, digital, microprocessors/ micro controllers, analogue e! lectronics, radar, telecommunications, computers, software, and dozens more....Show more
