Contemporary art: Is painting visual culture symbols on cobblestone a concept in Paris ?

answers2: Very interesting indeed....I do not know how to answer the
question about is painting visual culture symbols..etc.......but
apparently the question would be yes. Some times in this part of the
country, we do the same thing only on a larger scale....decorate the
side of a building with something that we want people to be aware
of....such as a historic event, or something that a city is known
for....etc. etc. I think that this is a very good way to promote
culture as long as it is done in good taste....Sure beats
tagging......God bless....Nomadic
answers3: I like the idea of the cobblestones on cobblestone one en
situ because it would make you stop and think. <br>
The packaging/advertising ones work too because they appear to have
been thrown away. <br>
The others although well executed do not work quite so well when
returned to the street but are interesting as works of art in their
own right. <br>
Painting on stone goes back to the beginnings of time and a modern
twist like this is very interesting. The only problem I can see is if
you acheived the same status as Banksy for example the works would,
especially as they are so portable be quickly destroyed or spirited
away.
