Nestor Klan: Okay I see a lot of incomplete or flat-out wrong information in previous posts so let me try to sort it out. Here's the deal on a hybrid purchase in Connecticut: Any new or used hybrid purchased before October 1, 2008, that gets at least 40 mpg is exempt from state sales tax. The Federal Tax Credit applies to the purchase of any NEW hybrid vehicle and is calculated based on the mpg that model gets compared to it's non-hybrid counterpart. A chart detailing the credit for different hybrids can be found on the IRS website. Keep in mind that the tax credit also gets cut in half after that car manufacturer has sold 60,000 hybrid vehicles. Toyota, who has led all manufacturers in hybrid production and sales, has already hit that mark and as a result the credit for any purchase of a Toyota hybrid is now half the original amount. It will be cut in half again April 1, 2007 and phased out completely October 1, 2007. So, taking the Prius as an example, it starte! d with a $3150 credit, got reduced to $1575 on 10-1-06, will be $787.50 on 4-1-07, and will be $0.00 on 10-1-07. No other manufacturer has hit the 60,000 mark at this point. So, getting back to your original question, if your friend bought a used Prius, he would be exempt from sales tax but would not receive a tax credit (because it's used). If he wants a hybrid he might be better off buying new as the resale value for hybrids is higher than most other vehicles and he would then be eligible for the IRS tax credit. p>Avant de peindre un chef-d’Å"uvre, une toile doit être étirée pour qu’elle fonctionne et tienne bien la peinture. Si vous êtes peintre, apprendre à étirer vos propres toiles est un excellent moyen d’économiser de l’argent, de réduire vos frais généraux et de rester productif. Cet article vous montrera comment obtenir les matériaux nécessaires, étirer la toile correctement et l’apprêter pour la peinture.

Centrez votre cadre sur la toile. Posez la toile à plat sur votre surface de travail et centrez le cadre sur celle-ci. Prenez une minute pour lisser et nettoyer la toile autant que possible avant de commencer.

Étirez les coins. Retournez au premier côté où vous avez commencé à vous étirer et travaillez de vos agrafes centrales jusqu’à chaque coin. Tirez un morceau de toile, étir! ez-le vers le bas et insérez-y une agrafe. Allez-y doucement, en vous étirant un peu de l’autre côté de la barre à la fois. Continuez de tirer et d’agrafer les morceaux de la toile en vous déplaçant sur les bords de la toile dans le même ordre qu’auparavant.

Laissez la toile reposer. Après avoir étiré votre toile, il est important de laisser reposer la toile et de la serrer sur le cadre avant d’essayer de l’amorcer ou de la peindre dessus. Dans une pièce à température ambiante, à l’abri de l’humidité et de l’excès d’humidité, une toile devrait se resserrer et être ferme en un jour ou deux environ.

Utilisez des cales ou des cales en bois pour continuer à promouvoir l’étirement. Pour certaines toiles, il convient d’insérer des cales dans les joints d’angle pour étirer davantage la toile. Ce ne sera pas toujours nécessaire, mais si vous voulez que la toile soit particulièrement serrée, ou si vous pensez qu’elle po! urrait être plus serrée mais que vous ne voulez pas prendre ! le temps de retirer toutes les agrafes et de recommencer, cela peut être une excellente façon de la resserrer un peu plus.

Obtenez le reste du matériel nécessaire pour terminer le travail. Vous aurez besoin de quelques outils de base pour effectuer correctement un travail d’étirement de toile. Essayez d’obtenir les fournitures suivantes :

Trouvez assez de toile pour le travail. Prévoyez suffisamment de toile pour faire le tour du cadre d’au moins six ou huit pouces de chaque côté, selon la largeur du cadre. Il est essentiel que vous ayez assez de toile qui se chevauchent pour l’attacher à l’arrière de la toile, sinon l’étirement ne fonctionnera pas. Mesurez les dimensions du cadre que vous possédez, ou de la toile éventuelle que vous voulez et achetez ou coupez une toile de plus grande taille, en conséquence.

Vérifier l’étanchéité de la toile. Une fois que vous avez terminé, retournez toute la toile et tapotez-la avec votre! doigt. Il devrait sonner comme un tambour et sembler assez tendu. S’il y a des plis ou des tractions étranges, vous pourrez les voir d’ici. Si vous avez mal agrafé ou si la toile n’est pas particulièrement tendue, tirez sur les agrafes et fixez-les en répétant les étapes de la section précédente. La toile s’affaissera beaucoup plus une fois qu’elle sera peinte, si elle est lâche.

Étirez les côtés les plus courts. Allez sur l’un des côtés non agrafés et donnez à la toile une bonne traction solide, repliez-la et insérez deux agrafes, en fixant la toile au cadre. Faites la même chose de l’autre côté court.

Préparez votre toile. Après avoir étiré votre toile, vous êtes prêt à l’amorcer avec le gesso ou l’apprêt de votre choix. Parfois, on ajoute un « tenseur » à la toile et on le laisse sécher avant l’application de l’apprêt, et parfois, on ne le laisse pas sécher. Ensuite, la toile doit être apprêtée en ! peignant uniformément, en couches minces à l’aide du pinceau dans u! n sens. La plupart des toiles doivent être apprêtés avec trois couches.

Mouiller doucement la toile, si nécessaire. Si vous essayez d’étirer une toile non texturée, il est courant d’utiliser un vaporisateur pour mouiller doucement la toile avec un peu d’eau, ce qui aidera à la tendre au fur et à mesure que la toile sèche. Après avoir fixé les longs côtés à la toile, vaporisez doucement la toile pour favoriser le rétrécissement pendant que vous travaillez.

Finissez d’agrafer la toile. Faites le tour de la toile et martelez toutes vos agrafes à l’aide d’un marteau pour vous assurer que tout est au même niveau que le cadre. Vous ne voulez pas d’agrafes rugueuses sur les bords lorsque vous travaillez. Si vous voyez un besoin pour plus d’agrafes, prenez une minute pour en fixer un peu plus.

Plier et agrafer les coins. Placez un côté du coin sous l’autre, en tirant fermement, de façon à ce qu’un bord droit soit juste à ! égalité avec le coin. Tirez très fermement sur les coins. C’est le serrage final, ce qui en fait le plus important. Soyez ferme et régulier.

Étirez d’abord les côtés les plus longs de la toile. Commencez par le côté le plus long de la toile le plus près de vous et repliez-le. Insérez trois agrafes au centre de ce côté du cadre, le long du bord inférieur du cadre. En d’autres termes, vous voulez enrouler la toile tout autour de la barre et commencer à la fixer sur le bord inférieur du cadre. La toile autour des coins doit encore être très lâche. Tu le resserreras plus tard.

Achetez une civière ou construisez un cadre. Les cadres en toile sont aussi parfois désignés sous le nom de barres de civière, qui comportent des lattes prédécoupées que vous pouvez glisser ensemble pour créer le cadre. C’est la façon la plus simple de personnaliser le cadre pour l’adapter à vos besoins et de l’assembler rapidement. La plupart des profe! ssionnels utilisent des brancards.

Coupez votre toile. La toile d! oit être coupée plusieurs pouces plus large que les dimensions des brancards, en tenant compte également de la largeur de chaque côté du cadre. Vous aurez besoin de cette toile supplémentaire pour avoir quelque chose sur quoi vous pouvez vous agripper afin de pouvoir la tirer et l’étirer. Une fois que vous avez toutes vos fournitures, cadre et toile, coupez la toile à l’aide d’un couteau utilitaire très tranchant ou d’un X-Acto.
