Appendectomy, Pre-existing Condition?
Jackson Esmiol: Yes, but it won't matter. Since it's no longer there, the insurance company has no increased financial risk about the possibility (zero) of a recurrent episode, so it won't affect your rate.
Moises Rupinski: Appendectomy is a sugical procedure, and not a condition. The condition that led to it is a pre-existing condition, and the surgery could be implicated in future conditions that result from it, such as formation of adhesions. So overall it is likely be looked upon as a pre-existing condition.
Tommy Durrenberger: It's highly unlikely. If you had an adhesion resulting in a bowel obstruction, theoretically some insurance reviewer might claim it was from the appendicitis. But that's a stretch, even from my paranoid viewpoint.
