Why do people - Woman & Men in general care so much about appearance?

Lou Rought: So true. I remember at college if a girl didn't have a skinny "wasp-like" figure she just wasn't attractive and no one would approach her. Forget all that **** about college students being open-minded and mature...people still care a lot for beauty at that age. I mean who wants to be seen in party photos with an ugly person? It just doesn't work that way.
